In order for our new 1st-year students to adapt more easily to university and faculty life, to gain information about the education and training processes, and to get to know the academic and social opportunities within our faculty closely, an orientation program was held.

The program started with a speech by our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. İsmail KIRBAŞ. Following the Dean, the Head of the Software Engineering Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan PENÇE and the Head of the Information Systems Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Sena ÇELİK addressed our students, providing evaluations regarding the departments, academic processes, and university life.

After the opening speeches, information presentations were made to help our students get to know the faculty more closely and to access the basic information they would need during their education and training processes. The 1st-year advisor of the Information Systems Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ümit GÜRSOY and the 1st-year advisor of the Software Engineering Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan PENÇE conducted presentations on the fundamental topics that students need to know throughout their academic lives. The presentations covered important issues related to course registrations, exams, academic advising, student information systems, university opportunities, and education and training processes.

In the continuation of the program, Research Assistant Ali Tezcan SARIZEYBEK conducted an awareness presentation on addiction and online gambling, which are particularly important for university students. The presentation provided students with information about the individual and social effects of addiction, risks that may be encountered in the digital environment, and the negative consequences that online gambling can create.

In the final section of the orientation program, student communities operating within our faculty came together with our students. Presentations conducted by representatives of IEEE, Digital Game Community, Information and Computing Community, and Science and Technology Youth Community introduced the goals of the communities, areas of activity, events they have organized, and the opportunities they offer to students.

With the orientation program held, it was aimed for our students to closely understand the academic and social structure of our faculty, to make a more conscious start to their educational lives, and to actively participate in university life.

We wish success to all our new students in their educational lives and hope they have a productive and beautiful university experience.
